Flow injection anodes are usually installed in horizontal anode beds (when there are no environmental constraints) or well anode beds (when subjected to dry desert environmental conditions). In both of the above situations, the anodes are surrounded by a low-resistance carbon backing, which increases the life and performance of the anodes by reducing the resistance between the anode and the ground.

According to IPS-M-TP-750/2 standard, Bernagdaz company provides three types of carbon backing materials that have high amounts of carbon (metallurgical coke 80%, petroleum coke 90% and special petroleum coke 95%). The difference in chemical properties and density of these three types of coke is shown in the following table:

According to the IPS-M-TP-750/2 standard, the specific resistance of coke type 1 and 2 should be less than 100 ohm.cm, and the specific resistance of coke type 3 should not exceed 0.1 ohm.cm. The difference in the grading of these three types of coke is according to the following table:

In order to protect fleas from environmental factors, they are packed in 25 kg or one ton double-walled bags.
