Generally, aluminum sacrificial anodes are used in the cathodic protection system of marine facilities.

In order to prevent the formation of the oxide layer (AL2O3) and the PASSIVE surface of the metal, metals such as mercury, zinc, indium and silicon are used for alloying and making the oxidized layer porous.

The capacity of aluminum anode alloys is about 3 times that of zinc anodes and it is made according to NACE RP0387-DNVRPB401 – IPS – M – 6/750 standards.
