According to the environmental conditions of oil, gas, petrochemical complexes, etc., some rectifier transformers should be installed inside the hazardous area. This requires the construction of suitable transformers for installation in these environmental conditions by complying with the relevant standards. According to the needs of the industry, Barna Electronics Company has made a rectifier transformer suitable for installation in the danger zone (anti-explosion EX). The mentioned rectifier transformers have been installed and commissioned in many projects such as: design and development of Tehran Refinery, Imam Khomeini and Shazand Arak Refineries, South Pars Phase 12, etc.
The mentioned rectifier transformers are made according to IEC60079 standard. In this type of devices, the main transformer and the rectifier part and the related filters are immersed in the oil tank of the device. To comply with the protection class of this part, the rectifier transformer of the EX-O protection class is used. Protection equipment, electronic control unit, measurement, etc. are installed inside the corresponding boxes with protection class Exd (the protection class may be different according to the customer’s request). Measuring equipment such as: ammeter, voltmeter, etc. are installed inside explosion-proof boxes with transparent screens. The entry and exit of rectifier transformer cables are done using explosion-proof glands with the same Exd class. Explosion-proof rectifier transformers can include any of the types mentioned in the previous sections in terms of control. Therefore, based on the needs of the project, these types of rectifiers will have electronic or intelligent control and even multi-channel.
